Abstract

In relation to the status of the woman in the extended family and the village community, models from the past find their support in the data from the recent field research with informers from the oldest generation, compared with the examples from the short folklore genre (proverbs, sayings). In that context, we can talk about the ideal model of traditional culture where the male principle dominated with the greatest rights and responsibilities, as well as about the real model of the traditional culture where the woman adopted significant latent rights through the mechanisms of the female subculture.
