Eda Starova Tahir’s text examines contemporary invocations of Yugoslav socialist healthcare in North Macedonia as a discursive and affective resource through which citizens negotiate and critique present-day healthcare realities. By revisiting the socialist model as a benchmark of accessibility, solidarity, and institutional care, these narratives not only articulate dissatisfaction with current conditions but also shape normative policy expectations in the post-socialist period.
