Апстракт

This paper investigates, analyzes, and critically evaluates cultural policy in Macedonia as embodied in the government-sponsored Skopje 2014 project, with particular focus on the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Sovereignty and Independence, the Museum of VMRO, and the Museum of the Victims of the Communist Regime. The study places special emphasis on post-communist politics of memory as a strategic instrument in the reshaping of national identity. By examining the narrative structures, exhibition strategies, and symbolic frameworks of these institutions, the paper argues that the project represents a deliberate effort to reconfigure historical interpretation and collective memory in the service of constructing a new post-communist national narrative.
