Dear colleagues
the 2016 issue of the Philological studies, containing two consequent installments, has been prepared by the Faculty of Arts (University of Ljubljana) in cooperation with the following partners: the Institute for Macedonian Literature of the Cyril and Methodius (the University in Skopje, Macedonia), the Faculty of Arts in Zagreb (Croatia), the Institute for Literature and Arts in Belgrade (Serbia), and the Philological Faculty of the Perm State University (Russia).
The present volume, freely available online, comprises altogether 39 papers, testifying to a continuation of the regional and international collaboration in the humanities. All the thematic sections defined and refined throughout the past years are represented: Philosophical and Cultural Issues, History and Philology, Language in the Historical and Cultural Context, Literature in the International Context, Contemporary Society and Culture; Linguistics and Linguistic Didactics, concluded by the equally important review section.
We extend our gratitude to the authors from Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, and Ukraine for their numerous valuable articles, which tackle from several interesting perspectives the modern and traditional issues, be it cultural, literary, or linguistic.
The journal is archived in the internet libraries of Central and Eastern Europe (C.E.E.O.L.) and is listed on the Croatian portal for scientific reviews Hrčak and the Russian citation index (РИНЦ). Philological Studies is indexed in the MLA International Language Association database, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory, EBSCOhost, Gale, and ProQuest.
